
Introducing Prajakta Sirame, our featured employee of the month from Schaeffler!
We had the opportunity to conduct a brief Q&A session with Prajakta Sirame, a promising young talent from our member company, Schaeffler. In her role as a professional pricing data analyst, she is tasked with database maintenance, pricing tool management, and has even contributed to the development of the Power BI dashboard and reports.
Could you tell us a bit about your background? (Place of birth, age, education…)
I am Prajakta Sirame basically from India I have a background in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University. I gained valuable experience during my tenure in the banking sector for two years after my degree. However, my innate curiosity and drive to explore the fascinating world of data and business analytics led me to pursue an MS degree in data and business analytics. Since December 2022, I have been a member of the Schaeffler Aftermarket team beyond my professional life, I find fulfillment in my hobbies of painting and reading.
How would you describe the Aftermarket to someone who has never heard of this industry?
The aftermarket in the automobile industry comprises non-OEM products and services, including parts, accessories, and modifications, catering to vehicle owners for customization, repair, and enhancement needs post-purchase.
How did you become aware of, and why did you choose the Aftermarket to work in?
While working as a data analyst in the automotive industry I became aware of aftermarket. Whereas working in the aftermarket offers creative freedom, catering to unique customer demands. It’s a space where innovation thrives, allowing professionals to shape the industry’s future with tailored solutions and that’s the reason why I choose to work in the aftermarket.
How would you describe your job?
As a professional pricing data analyst at Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket, my primary role involves maintaining and optimizing the pricing database. I’ve played a pivotal role in enhancing data visibility and decision-making by developing a comprehensive Power BI dashboard and generating insightful reports. Additionally, I oversee the management of pricing tools, ensuring their efficiency and accuracy. This job requires keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering actionable insights that contribute to the company’s success in the automotive aftermarket industry.
What do you fancy most in your job?
Most fancy in my job is to deal with the big pricing numbers and make it understandable to higher management in a visual format.
